99% of the time it’s because of one Klip. Try this:
- Delete the contents of Klipfolio Dashboard’s cache directory (Start > All Programs > Klipfolio Dashboard > Open Klipfolio Dashboard Folder) and start Klipfolio Dashboard.
If this doesn't resolve the issue, continue after closing Klipfolio Dashboard first. - Make a back-up of the myklips and settings folders and the preferences.xml file (found inside Start > All Programs > Klipfolio Dashboard > Open Klipfolio Dashboard Folder).
- From the original settings folder, Remove a klipname.prefs.xml file and restart Klipfolio Dashboard. If it starts up fine, it means that that klipname.prefs.xml was causing the crash. If you still see the crash, repeat the removal of another prefs.xml file and restarting the application until you are able to start it successfully. This isolates the Klip gone bad.
- Once you have isolated the bad Klip, close the dashboard and copy the back-up folders and file from Step 2 to the Klipfolio Dashboard folder to restore them to their original state. Click Yes when asked if you want to replace the current folders and file.
- Delete the klipname.prefs.xml file for the Klip gone bad (from step 3) from the settings folder.
- Start Klipfolio Dashboard.
Note: each file in the
settings folder has information about the Klip it corresponds with. Deleting the *.xml file for the Klip means that Klip will now run but without any customizations you made previously.
