How do I connect Klipfolio and FreshBooks?

You have the following options for visualizing your data on a dashboard in Klipfolio:

Authenticate with Freshbooks

You can choose to connect with FreshBooks using the Connector Gallery or the Klip Gallery in Klipfolio. Either way, the first thing you will be asked to do is authenticate and create a handshake connection between your Klipfolio and FreshBooks accounts.

In order to associate your FreshBooks data with your Klip Gallery template, you will need to log into your FreshBooks account and find your Authentication Token and subdomain name.

To find your FreshBooks Authentication Token and Subdomain name,

  1. In a new tab, log in to your FreshBooks account.
  2. In the top right navigation menu, select My Account.
  1. Select FreshBooks API.
  1. At API URL, copy your subdomain name (in our example, globex), paste it into Klipfolio.
  2. Copy your Authentication Token and paste it into Klipfolio.

Enter your FreshBooks subdomain and API Token in Klipfolio

If you are creating a data source using the Freshbooks connector,

  1. Enter your subdomain in the query where indicated,
  2. Expand the Authentication menu,
  3. Select the Basic HTTP Authentication option,
  4. In the Username field, enter your FreshBooks API Key,
  5. Leave the Password field blank,
  6. Click Submt to view and save your new data source.

If you are adding a Freshbooks Klip from the Gallery, enter your API Key and your FreshBooks subdomain in the appropriate fields:
