Klipfolio Changelog 2021

Up to Oct 13th

  • PowerMetrics dashboards: You can now download and print your favourite dashboards as PDFs. Keep everyone informed with access to a digital or printed copy of your data. This feature is available to Plus, Pro, and Custom plans. Learn more here.

  • Calculated metrics: In the past, when building calculated metrics, it could be difficult to tell which service each metric was associated with. We now display the service icon for each metric when building calculated metric formulas.

  • Table visualization enhancement: For list and pivot tables that include a date/time column, you can now choose to hide or display blank time periods.

Up to Sept 29th

  • PowerMetric dashboards: You can now control colours for charts on metric dashboards. Choose from our pre-set colour assignment options or add your own custom colours. Learn more here.

  • Modelling data sources: We’ve added Duration as a data format type. In addition to Text, Number, Percentage, Currency, and Date, you can now assign Duration as a format type to columns in the modeller and select it as a value when building custom metrics. We’ve also simplified the way duration is handled in the Klip Editor. You no longer have to write a formula to convert duration data into seconds - we do it automatically for you. (This feature applies to newer Klips accounts - signups post-October 2020.) Learn more here.

  • Metric date range filtering: We’ve added a new option called “Auto” to our list of pre-set date range filters. When selected, the auto option filters to display data for today minus the number of days included in your plan. For example, if you’re signed up with the free PowerMetrics plan, you’ll see data for today minus 62 days. The Auto option is especially well-suited for comparing metrics on a dashboard, potentially providing a more contextual perspective. This option ensures your dashboard displays as much historical data as possible, while keeping the dashboard date range and charts’ x-axis in alignment to support easier comparisons between metrics Learn more here.

  • MongoDB connector: We’ve updated our MongoDB connector to support SSL connections.

  • Salesforce and Zendesk: Instant metrics are now available for Salesforce and Zendesk!

Updates and Fixes:

  • Date filtering for custom metrics: Modified, clearer date filter operator names make it easier to apply date filters for custom metrics.

  • Metrics that access multiple services: We’ve added a new service icon to the metric list, explore view, and the add metric dialog that indicates the number of services used in the metric and the service names (up to 4). See below for an example of the multiple service icon for a calculated metric that uses Instagram Business, an Uploaded File, and LinkedIn, plus 2 other services:

  • Print metrics and dashboards or save them as PDFs: You can now set up your favourite metrics and dashboards to print or save as PDFs. This browser-based printing capability is the first, lightweight version of our upcoming, more advanced printing feature. Learn more here.

  • Instant metrics: When adding instant metrics, you can click on the information button on the metric tile to see a brief definition and the formula used to create the metric. Now, you can also see a list of available dimensions for the metric.

  • Modelling data sources: We’ve added the ability to unpivot columns in your data source so you can easily convert data from a pivot table format to a list table format. Learn more here.

Up to June 29th

  • PowerMetrics: You can already add instant metrics for our most popular services. Now there’s a new, simplified, yet powerful, option for creating custom metrics for those services too! Connect to any of these services: Google Analytics, Google Ads, HubSpot, Instagram Business, Facebook, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Pages, LinkedIn Ads, Twitter, Twitter Ads, Stripe, Mailchimp, Xero, and QuickBooks. Then, choose the data you want to query, further specify the data using filters, and, optionally, refine it to use in your metrics. Learn more here.

  • Inviting users to your account: We’ve updated the way you invite users into your account. The new design means you can invite multiple users and set their roles/permissions in one simple action. All you need is their email address. If you invite more users than your plan allows, you’ll be automatically prompted to either purchase a top-up or upgrade your plan. Learn more here for PowerMetrics and here for Klips.

Up to April 28th

  • Klips charts: A couple of issues were found with the starting numbers for the Y-Axis in charts. This was preventing negative values from displaying correctly and bars from displaying for smaller values. These issues have been fixed.

Up to April 19th

  • Metric List enhancements:
  • We’ve added a “New” tag to your metric list so you can quickly see which metrics you recently added.
  • You can now filter your list of metrics by type. For example, you can filter to display only your calculated metrics, metrics for a specific service, or metrics created from uploaded files. Learn more here.
  • Instant metrics: We’ve redesigned the data services page in PowerMetrics to make it easier to see which data services include instant metrics.
  • PowerMetrics: Icons that indicate service and metric type now display beside metric names in the metric’s explore view, the metric list, and when adding metrics to a dashboard.

  • Klips line charts: We fixed the issue where markers were displaying in line charts when they were set not to display.
  • Klips chart labels: We fixed the issue where the outline for value labels on charts was not visible, making the values difficult to see.
  • Klips bar charts: The Y-axis in bar charts now show the best fit range, as expected.

Up to March 31st

  • PowerMetrics: We’ve added state icons that indicate when you need to re-authenticate your account connection. Learn more here.

Performance and quality enhancements

  • Stripe connector: Instant metrics are now available for Stripe!

  • Domain alias settings: There was a string error on our domain alias settings page that has been fixed (da.kfnet.ca has been updated to da.kfnet.io).
  • Email attachment data sources: After creating a data source from an email attachment, the new data source wasn’t displaying in the data source list for the account. This issue has been fixed.
  • Metric dashboards: When adding metrics to a dashboard, there was an issue where you could only see a maximum of 50 metrics to select from. This has been fixed. You can now scroll to see all available metrics, 50 at a time.

Up to March 3rd

  • Custom CSS for Klips: We’ve added a new property to the Klip Editor. To adjust the style of one or more Klips, you can add one or more classes to the root of any Klip container using the new Klip Class(es) property. Learn more here.

Up to February 17th

  • Metric List: Our redesign of the metric library page takes it to the next level! All of your metrics now display as a dynamic list. Not only can you see all your metrics in one place but you can use this page to keep informed on their progress. At a glance, you can check metric values, progress, and trends. Use the filter options to set a date range or to see a list of the metrics you're interested in right now. Get quick access to learn more about each metric. Click a metric to open it in its explore view or in a new tab. You can also delete metrics you no longer need. Learn more here.
  • Snowflake Connector: We’ve updated our Snowflake connector to support all available regions.

  • Data source refresh: Data sources with a refresh setting of “never” can now be multi-selected when queuing for refresh.
  • Metrics: When editing a metric, changes made to the metric’s data shape (for example, changing from periodic to transactional data) were not being retained after saving. This has been fixed.

Up to February 4th

  • PowerMetrics:
  • To provide greater clarity for our customers, we now refer to the asset you create in PowerMetrics as a “metric”. These assets were previously referred to as “PowerMetrics”. Our product name hasn’t changed.
  • When choosing a service for your instant metrics, you can now see how many others are connecting to the service and the number of instant metrics available.
  • LinkedIn connector: We connect to LinkedIn business accounts (not personal accounts). To improve clarity, we’ve changed the connector name to LinkedIn Pages.
  • Instagram connector: We connect to Instagram business accounts (not personal accounts). To improve clarity, we’ve changed the connector name to Instagram Business.

  • Modeller: Merged models were including blank rows for unmatched values from the secondary data source. This issue has been fixed.
