Klipfolio Changelog 2021

Up to Dec 31st

  • Dashboard and custom metric improvements: We made a few UI changes to make it easier to create custom metrics and to find and interact with metric and dashboard options.

  • Filtering for custom metrics: We’ve added some new filter options to custom metrics: “Is empty”, “Is not empty”, “Is null”, and “Is not null”. Learn more about filters here.

Up to Dec 7th

  • PowerMetrics top-ups: Need more data services or a longer date range window but aren’t ready to upgrade to a higher plan? If you’re on the Pro or Plus plan, contact us at success@klipfolio.com to ask about our new top-ups! Learn more here.

  • New bar and column chart style: The new colour by category style can be applied to bar and column charts to assign colours based on the category you want to display in your metric. Learn more here.

  • SharePoint connector: If your SharePoint drive included multiple root directories (Document Libraries) the wizard considered them as normal folders. Since the root directory configuration doesn’t include a drive ID, this was causing a malformed query and showing no results. To fix this issue, each root folder is now considered as a separate drive.

Up to Nov 24th

  • Data sources: The modelled data sources that are created for you when you add instant metrics are managed by Klipfolio PowerMetrics. If you want to display this data source type in your Data Source List, click the 3-dot menu in the top right of the page and adjust the toggle to Show data sources managed by PowerMetrics. Learn more here.

  • Editing instant metrics: We’ve added more editing options to instant metrics. You can now rename, change the refresh rate, and go to the associated modelled data source details page. Learn more here.

  • Resetting instant metric data: Reset data for an instant metric by deleting its stored historical data and re-downloading new data. There are several reasons you may want to do this, for example, if you made changes to the service, decided to connect using a different account, or there was an API disruption. Learn more here.

  • Deleting and replacing custom metric data: Want to focus on a different measure than the one you originally chose? Added a column of data to your modelled data source that you now want to include in your custom metric? Instead of starting over, you can delete the stored historical data for a custom metric and replace it with different data from your modelled data source. Learn more here.

Up to Nov 16th

  • Accessing metric details: Want to learn more about a metric? • Calculated metrics: In the past, when building calculated metrics, it could be difficult to tell which service each metric was associated with. We now display the service icon for each metric when building calculated metric formulas.

  • Table visualization enhancement: For list and pivot tables that include a date/time column, you can now choose to hide or display blank time periods.

Up to Sept 29th

  • PowerMetric dashboards: You can now control colours for charts on metric dashboards. Choose from our pre-set colour assignment options or add your own custom colours. Learn more here.

  • Modelling data sources: We’ve added Duration as a data format type. In addition to Text, Number, Percentage, Currency, and Date, you can now assign Duration as a format type to columns in the modeller and select it as a value when building custom metrics. We’ve also simplified the way duration is handled in the Klip Editor. You no longer have to write a formula to convert duration data into seconds - we do it automatically for you. (This feature applies to newer Klips accounts - signups post-October 2020.) Learn more here.

  • Metric date range filtering: We’ve added a new option called “Auto” to our list of pre-set date range filters. When selected, the auto option filters to display data for today minus the number of days included in your plan. For example, if you’re signed up with the free PowerMetrics plan, you’ll see data for today minus 62 days. The Auto option is especially well-suited for comparing metrics on a dashboard, potentially providing a more contextual perspective. This option ensures your dashboard displays as much historical data as possible, while keeping the dashboard date range and charts’ x-axis in alignment to support easier comparisons between metrics Learn more here.

  • MongoDB connector: We’ve updated our MongoDB connector to support SSL connections.

  • Salesforce: Start tracking your leads, customers, and opportunities with just a few clicks using our Salesforce instant metrics. Feeling creative? Use the query builder in PowerMetrics to add Salesforce custom metrics too! Learn more here.

  • Zendesk: Start tracking your tickets, contact resolution rates, response times, and more with just a few clicks using our Zendesk instant metrics. Feeling creative? Use the query builder in PowerMetrics to add Zendesk custom metrics too! Learn more here.

  • PowerMetrics: You can already add instant metrics for our most popular services. Now there’s a new, simplified, yet powerful, option for creating custom metrics for those services too! Connect to any of these services: Google Analytics, Google Ads, HubSpot, Instagram Business, Facebook, Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Pages, LinkedIn Ads, Twitter, Twitter Ads, Stripe, Mailchimp, Xero, and QuickBooks. Then, choose the data you want to query, further specify the data using filters, and, optionally, refine it to use in your metrics. Learn more here.

  • Inviting users to your account: We’ve updated the way you invite users into your account. The new design means you can invite multiple users and set their roles/permissions in one simple action. All you need is their email address. If you invite more users than your plan allows, you’ll be automatically prompted to either purchase a top-up or upgrade your plan. Learn more here for PowerMetrics and here for Klips.
