How do I change the currency display format for my metrics?

 

Metric types, and editing options, depend on your PowerMetrics account version.
If you see Data Feeds in the left navigation sidebar, you’ll learn how to change the currency display format in this article. If not, go here.

 

The default display for currency-formatted metric data is USD $. When editing or creating metrics, you can switch the currency display format, for example, to EUR € or GBP £. Note: This is a display option only. Currency is not converted.

This article describes how to change your currency display format when:

Changing the currency display format when editing a metric

To change the currency display format when editing a metric:

  1. In the left navigation sidebar, click Metrics to open the Metric List page.
  2. Select the metric you want to edit from the list.
  3. Click the edit button Edit button at the top of the page, as shown below using a Shopify instant metric as an example.

  4. If you’re editing an instant metric, click the Data tab. For all other metric types, click the Settings tab.
  5. Under Format, make sure Currency is selected. Then, click the drop-down under Currency symbol and select the desired currency display format from the list.
  6. Click Save metric.
    All instances of the metric are automatically updated with your changes.

Changing the currency display format when creating a metric

Note: For instant metrics and dbt Semantic Layer metrics you can only change the currency display format when editing.

To change the currency display format when creating a metric:

  1. In the left navigation sidebar, click the + button beside Metrics and select See all services or New calculated metric.
  2. For a new calculated metric, click the Settings tab and, under Format, make sure Currency is selected. Then, click the drop-down under Currency symbol and select the desired currency display format from the list.
  3. For a custom data feed metric, direct to warehouse metric, or Cube metric, select a service and follow the steps to connect to your data and configure the metric.
  4. In the Data tab, when choosing the measure, select the column that includes currency formatted values.
  5. Click the Settings tab.
  6. Under FormatCurrency, click the drop-down under Currency symbol and select the desired currency display format from the list. (See below.)

  7. Continue configuring the metric. When you're finished, click Save metric.
