We’re improving the metric creation experience. Our recent redesign lets you preview changes while you create and edit custom and calculated metrics. We’ve also combined raw and modelled data sources into a single object called a data feed.
If you see Data Feeds in the left navigation sidebar, go to this article to learn how to change the currency display format.
The default display for currency-formatted metric data is USD $. When creating or editing custom and calculated metrics, you can switch the currency display format, for example, to EUR € or GBP £.
Note: This is a display option only. Currency is not converted.

Changing the currency display format when editing instant metrics
To change the currency display format when editing an instant metric:
- In the left navigation sidebar, click Metrics to open the Metric List page.
- Select the instant metric you want to edit from the list.
- Click the Edit button at the top of the page. (See below.)
- Click the Data tab.
- Under Format, click the drop-down under Currency symbol and select the desired currency display format from the list.
- Click Save metric.
All instances of the metric are automatically updated with your changes.
Changing the currency display format when creating custom metrics
To change the currency display format when creating a custom metric:
- In the left navigation sidebar, click the + button beside Metrics.
- On the Where is your data? page, select the service you'll use to create your custom metric.
- Regardless of the service you chose in the previous step, follow the workflow until you arrive at the Create a custom metric page where you will configure your custom metric. Refer to this article if you need help.
- In the Metric value step, choose the column from your modelled data source that includes currency formatted values. (See below for an example.)
- Continue choosing configuration settings. Refer to this article if you need help.
- In the Display settings step, click the drop-down under Currency symbol and select the desired currency display format from the list. (See below.)
- When you're finished configuring your custom metric, click Save.
Changing the currency display format when editing custom metrics
To change the currency display format when editing a custom metric:
- In the left navigation sidebar, click Metrics to open the Metric List page.
- Select the custom metric you want to edit from the list.
- Click the Edit button at the top of the page. (See below.)
- In the Properties panel on the right, under Currency symbol, select the desired currency display format from the list. (See below.)
- Click Save.
All instances of the metric are automatically updated with your changes.
Changing the currency display format when creating a calculated metric
To change the currency display format when creating a calculated metric:
- In the left navigation sidebar, click the + button beside Metrics.
- Click Calculate a new metric.
- Configure your calculated metric as described in this article.
- In the Display settings step, click the drop-down under Currency symbol and select the desired currency display format from the list. (See below.)
- When you're finished configuring your calculated metric, click Save.

To change the currency display format when editing a calculated metric:
- Click Metrics in the left navigation sidebar.
- In your list of metrics, select a calculated metric.
- Click the Edit button at the top of the page.
- Click Display settings.
- Click the drop-down under Currency symbol and select the desired currency display format from the list.
- Click Save.
All instances of the calculated metric are automatically updated with your changes.
