How do I upload a file to use as a data source?

You can select Upload a File from the Service Connectors page to upload an Excel, XML, CSV, or JSON file from your device.

Creating a data source using an uploaded file

You can upload any Excel, XML, CSV, or JSON file directly from your device and use it to create a data source.

To create a data source using an uploaded file:

  1. Click Data Sources in the left navigation bar.
  2. Click Create a New Data Source and select Upload a File.

  1. Click Choose File and select a file to upload.
  2. Click Submit.

Note: In addition to your raw data source, you can create a modelled version of your data source at this stage. To create a modelled data source, ensure that the checkbox next to Model this data source is selected before clicking Continue.

  1. In the preview window, verify it's the data you want and then click Continue.
  2. Name and save the data source.

Refreshing an uploaded data source

To refresh a data source that was created by uploading a file from your device, you must overwrite the version you previously uploaded to Klipfolio with an updated file. The following steps can be used to refresh the data in an existing uploaded data source.

Note: Data sources created using cloud storage connectors are refreshed automatically.

To refresh an uploaded data source:

  1. Click Data Sources in the left navigation bar.
  2. From the list of Data Sources, select the file you want to update.
  3. On the About this Data Source page, select Reconfigure Connection or Re-Upload Now.

  1. Click Choose File and select a file to upload.
  2. Click Submit.
  3. Verify that you have uploaded the correct data and click Done.
