Overview

TRIM( values, pattern )

TRIM returns values by removing any value that matches the value in pattern or by removing all blank values if no pattern is provided.

Using TRIM to remove blank values

1 Canada
2  
3 USA
4 Germany

The following example is based on the above table:

TRIM( values )

  • values: set to country data in column A (A:A).

Results: Canada, USA, Germany

Using TRIM to remove specified values

  A
1 Canada
2 Australia 
3 USA
4 Germany

The following example is based on the above table:

TRIM( values, "pattern" )

  • values: set to country data in column A (A:A).
  • "pattern": set to "USA".

Results: Canada, Australia, Germany
