Interacting with your metrics

In PowerMetrics, you interact with and learn from your metric data in multiple ways. This article explains the benefits of and differences between the metric homepage, Explorer, and dashboard experience. As part of your journey, you’ll move freely between all three options. Whether you’re investigating your metrics, tracking your business’ progress, or displaying and sharing your findings with others, PowerMetrics will help you succeed with data.

Metric homepage

The metric homepage presents the complete picture for a single metric. Quickly compare progress over time, access metric details, and visualize your data automatically using a professionally curated, yet customizable, template.

To open a metric’s homepage, click Metrics in the left navigation sidebar and select the metric you’re interested in from the list.

On a metric’s homepage you can:

View a single metric from multiple perspectives - When you open a metric in its homepage, it’s immediately visualized using the most appropriate aggregation type and the most effective chart styles, enabling you to quickly and easily see your data from multiple perspectives, all on one page. Personalize the display for single metrics - You’re free to customize the display properties for any or all of the metric views on the homepage. Only visible to you, your changes will be there the next time you sign into PowerMetrics. If, at any point, you want to start over, you can reset one or all of the views to their original, default version. Learn more about personalizing your metrics.

Edit the metric’s underlying data - Enter edit mode to change the fundamental data that’s being used for the metric, including, for example, connecting to an alternative account to retrieve different data or modifying the value you’re measuring. After saving your changes, all instances of the metric will be automatically updated for you and for everyone with shared access to the metric. Learn more about editing your metrics.

Add metric goals - Add goals to your metrics and be informed on their status with in-app and email notifications. You can also view, edit, and delete metric goals on the metric homepage. Learn more about adding goals to your metrics.

Explorer

Want to analyze and dig deeper into your metric data in a personalized, free-form way? Add one or more metrics to Explorer, where you can investigate and learn without affecting the metric’s underlying data or its default display for others.

To open Explorer, click Explorer in the left navigation sidebar.

In Explorer you can:

Combine multiple metrics into one visualization - In Explorer, you can visualize and analyze single or multiple metrics - up to 5 metrics at a time - including scatter, bubble, and combination charts (and any chart type that supports the addition of multiple metrics). Fluidly and easily make changes to the exploration, including, for example, changing the metric order, replacing or adding new metrics, and modifying every display setting you can think of.

Personalize the display for single or multi-metrics - Only visible to you, the changes you make while exploring won’t affect the underlying metrics or their data. Your personalized settings are remembered and will be there the next time you sign into PowerMetrics. You can reset Explorer to start over with new metrics as many times as you want to.
