Feature request: Autostart dashboard rotation

I just discovered that Klipfolio comes with a built-in slideshow (full-screen -> click play button). Wonderful! This saves me a lot of work.

However, it does not autostart. This renders the feature completely useless if one wishes to use it on unmanaged screens! We could really need a setting for choosing to auto-start the slideshow rotation.

Hi Magne - how many dashboards and how many screens are you trying to set up?

I'm not sure if this is what you need, but Internally I have several TV Wallboards and 3 main dashboards I send to them.  Our setup includes a free web service (Risevision), our Published Links features, and TVs with compute stick.  It provides a huge amount of control in terms of managing many dashboards to many TVs all on different schedules.  I have my main TVs set to autostart at 8am and turn off at 5:30pm.  It works perfectly for our use case.

Here is a link to a doc that describes the setup. https://support.klipfolio.com/hc/en-us/articles/215952938-Using-Rise-Vision-to-display-your-Klipfolio-dashboard-on-big-screen-TVs-or-digital-wallboards

Let me know if this helps?

We would love to use the published links feature, but the security surrounding them is severely lacking. We will be displaying company-sensitive data on the dashboards, and cannot risk outsiders gaining access to the dashboard links. The protection scheme you currently have in place, where a person need only a password to view the dashboard, does not instil confidence in us. It is too easy to imagine that a person with malicious intents (or just out of negligence) shares a dashboard link and a password to someone outside the company.

We have therefore decided that we will not publish any links to the dashboards, and instead exclusively share it to users in klipfolio. The wall-mounted screens will each have a user, and they will use the slideshow feature in klipfolio. On a related note, it would be very good if users with only Viewing permissions of dashboards can also go into fullscreen and start a slideshow. The way it is now, the wall-mounted screen users need to have Editor permissions for the slideshow feature to be accessible.

EDIT: I found out that even users without Editor permissions of dashboards can enter fullscreen slideshow mode by using the link "https://app.klipfolio.com/dashboard?view=fs&play=true". However, it looks pretty bad: Not only is the top bar not hidden as it should be in fullscreen mode, there are TWO top bars. A fix would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for sharing your use case and concerns Magne.  The published links don't work for everyone, but, just to clarify.  The Private Published links are used by 1000's of customers sharing all kinds of sensitive data.  Your malicious person would need to discover a very long and non sensical URL which without Admin privileges in either Klipfolio or RiseVision is not viewable or findable in any way.  In addition, if the URL was compromised, it can be disabled or deleted and re-published at any time.  The password is really intended for when the URL is sent out but not required for the published links to be secure.

This thread has been forwarded to Product Management and we great appreciate input and feedback your.

    Hi Magne,

Can you confirm you are still two top bars?

    Thanks,

    Scott.
