Zendesk is updating to OAuth 2.0

Oops! Looks like we posted this a little too early. We still have some work to do to get this ready. Please check back in a few weeks. You will then be able to proceed with the following steps.

For now please keep using your Zendesk datasources as normal.

Hey everyone!

Just a heads up that we have updated our authentication method for connecting to Zendesk. We encourage you to update your existing data sources and associated Klips to use the new OAuth connector.

What should I know?

  • Existing data sources using Basic Authentication will continue to work as Zendesk continues to support that authentication method.
  • When you reconfigure an existing data source the authentication method will remain Basic.
  • To update to OAuth please create a new data source using the Zendesk connector from the connector gallery. You will need to update your Klips to use these new data sources.

Why update to OAuth?

OAuth is a more reliably secure authentication method. SSL protocol is used for the credentials request and access is made through a temporary token. Credentials do not need to be sent over the internet using HTTP headers, making it less vulnerable to third parties.

Finally, please double-check that any Klips using Zendesk data sources work as expected.

Let us know if you have any questions, we are here to help!
