It is possible to duplicate a original data source but there is no button for this in a modellled data source.
For example i need to create 4 exact same models of one data source with formulas in each column an only change one string in a select statement. so every time i have to create a new model, remove the columns which are not needed, format the other columns correct and write all formulas again and again.
Why i cant duplicate the excisting model and change only the string?

Thanks for the post - you're correct that it's not currently possible to duplicate a model with one click. However, you can duplicate a data source or create a new model off of your original data source.
One trick that may be helpful to you in this case is that you can copy/paste formulas between models, so long as those models use the same root data source. That may be a more efficient way to update these models to achieve the setup you're looking for.
