Add second Current value , this would give you two sources for comparison using one gauge , example total surgery time and total turn around time

Thanks Brian. It would be tricky for us to handle the collisions of two moving targets---not impossible, just tricky.
Typically, when we want to be able to compare the current value to more than one target in our gauge-based visualizations, we use ranges and/or indicators. Not as clear as lines and values, but they do communicate.

If you're still looking to a solution to this issue, you might try using a stacked bar chart. You can change the orientation to horizontal so it looks like a bar gauge. We use this to show sales completed for the month in conjunction with pending sales.
