Hi Scott,
Let me try to explain it using a scenario. For example I've two columns containing text values and the third column containing numeric data. I want the unique values of one text column to be shown in first column and unique values of other text column to be shown in the very first row ( as column headers). The third numeric column should show the data on the basis of criteria matching the respective column header. Please refer the below image for reference. I'm sure it would be one of very powerful feature. Thanks,
d row header. -
I would like to know if there is any progress on this.
Using a pivot table is - at least to me - a fundamental way of developing an understanding of my data by breaking up one dimension by other dimensions.
Here is an example:Let´s assume I have a dataset containing information on the temperatures at certain datetime stamps.
Now, I would like to have a table where every row represents a weekday while every column represents a certain hour of the day. The individual cells should display the average temperature for the respective weekday and hour of day.I think the option to create such a table should definitely be included in Klipfolio.
Whats more, if you included the possiblity to color the cells of the table with respect to a measure, we would be able to create beautiful heatmaps.
As far as I know, with the tables currently included in Klipfolio I can only color one column at a time - the functionality described above would work more fluently. -
Yes, I'm also in dire need of this cross tab visualization.
The use case is :- In one column I've list of agents and other column is of dates ( datasource is excel)...I want to show the dates (in months) in the very first column and the unqiue list of agents to be spread out in each column.
Is there any workaround to achieve it.
Thanks,
Vikash S Negi

+ 1 Vote for this feature request. Having a cross tab functionality with support for
- Subtotals
- Column total based normalization (percentages against column/subtotal)
- Row based normalization (percentages in cells against row totals)
- Conditional formatting in cross tabs (heatmaps)
- Ability to download the cross tab to excel or atleast as CSV
I was exploring kilpfolio and was impressed based on initial views.(Was also checking out Quicksight/PowerBI. Klipfolio seemed to be more simple to implement and use for SME like ours. A thumbs up for the variety of connectors available too) Lack of cross tab functionality/matrix visualization is a major concern.

Hi there,
the idea is rather simple. We can feed two kind of data into Klipfolio:
* flat (think of it as rows in datawarehouse);
* pivoted (hink of of it as data grouped by desired criteria)
I would much rather feed flat data, as the I can do all the sorts of magic in dashboards and and I am saving work of analyst to prepare date for dashboards.
Should I have to prepare data before sending it off to dashboard, I am would then rather use using Qlik / Tableau / MS SSAS and skipping Klipfolio altogether.

So, it seems like something fundamental is missing in Klipfolio... it is really huge limitation...
+1 to have pivot table capability in klipfolio... but is seems voting here is useless, two years almost passed but feature still not exists...
-
+1 This will be the reason we seek out another dashboard service. 2 years and nothing?
-
+1 Pivot tables are one of the most basic requirements for any data related tool.

Wow! Klipfolio doesn't support this basic function. So does this means I can't summarize simple transactional data? For example I have 100 sales over 3 months made my 10 salespeople, I can't summarize how many sales per person by month? I actually paid for an account assuming it would because I never imagined it wouldn't support such a basic function.

Hi Nghi, Thank you for your idea. We continue to add more interactivity to Klipfolio, however our core focus at the moment is on monitoring as opposed to analysis. Can you help me understand more about how you would use this when setting up a dashboard? What is the end result or visualization you are aiming for? Thanks, Scott.

Hi Vikash,
Thanks for adding you voice. Can you add a screen shot of what you have in mind? Or can we set up some time to have a call and discuss your use case further?
Cheers,
Scott.

+1 for this. Being able to produce pivot tables are a useful way of visualising data.

I am happy to report that we've now implemented the Pivot Table functionality within PowerMetrics. For instructions on how to build one, check out the tutorial:
