Multi-level table sort

I would love to be able to sort tables on multible levels, for example: Column B Ascending and then Column A Descending In the Datatables Jquery plugin (http://datatables.net/) (for an illustration of my point) this is achieved by holding the [SHIFT] key while adding additional sorting columns.

Yes - I second this. Essential in drill down tables !

For example : if there is a situation where column one is for countries (sort A-Z) then when drilling down the next visible column is for cities - there should be the option to sort this A-Z as well

Is there any progress on this ?

I currently have the situation where I have a list of Clients (A-Z) that I want to drill down into and then have the table sorted by date (Oldest-Newest). At the moment either the clients have to be out of order, or the dates are in a random order when you click through.

This is standard on all other visualization tools I work with. Can't be that difficult to implement.
