Intelligent pie chart slice colour based on specified label values

It would be great to assign slice colours to specific label values on pie charts to enable consistent label colours over different charts. Currently I can only colour based on descending/ascending order or over ride the slice colours which involves no intelligence towards labels. The trouble with this is that labels shift in order from month to month meaning I would need to go into each klip and reorder the over ride colours chart to chart, I have up to 30 charts where I need consistent label colouring.

I am having the same issue. Is there a workaround?

    Hi Kristy,

Thank you for raising your question in our community.

We do not have a specific mechanism to have the same color always associated with the same label at the moment.

Can you describe what you are trying to do and how this relates to the impact you are trying to have on your dashboards?

    Thanks,

    Scott.

We want to show a pie chart for each of the last 4 months reflecting the breakdown of Won, Lost, No Decision Opportunities. Since the colors are set dynamically each category will be a different color each month depending on it's rank in the total. We'll probably have to use a bar chart instead so it can be consistent across the months.

Yes, I'm having the same issue, I thought for sure Klipfolio could handle this before I built the Klip but am now sadly seeing this thread that it cannot. I basically am trying to show progress across different work streams, so I want all label values of Closed = Green, In Progress = Yellow and Proposed = Red.  Unfortunately the colors shift depending on what labels are available.

    Hi Jon,
You will use Pie Chart Indicators to set colour based on labels. It should be straight forward, but let me know if you run into issues.

    Thanks

Thanks Meggan, I tried that before and it wasn't working but I think it's because I was using equals and not contains in my formula, I believe it's working as expected now, apologies for the goose chase. ; )

    Cheers
