Remove non-usable duplicate data sources

Hi,

There should be a provision to remove duplicate and non-usable data sources from Klipfolio data source library. It's not easy to find the useless duplicate data sources in library.

Great additional insight and use case!  Definitely worth investigation.

I see where the challenge is.  When importing incrementally into a Client, it is possible to duplicate a data source.  I see a few threads coming out of this as areas for investigation.

Thanks again, Manish!!  (And Meggan for reposting here!)

    Adding this topic for investigation.

    Hi Manish,

Thanks for your feature request.  Can you share some additional context around the issue you are trying to resolve?

At customers requests, we recently introduced the ability for a customer to duplicate a data source to simplify the creation of similar data sources using an existing one as a starting point.  I don't believe this kind of duplicate data source is the concern.

Also, can you help me understand what you are referring to as 'non-usable' data sources?

    Thanks again,

    Scott.

Hi Scott - Manish's reply went into support queue. It is a great usecase for you to capture, so I am sharing it here:

    Hi Scott,

Please find below the brief description.

When I remove and import the same klip in a client from other client, it takes all the data source with the klip again, so they will be present double, for every time we copy a klip? Is there any solution for this? I ended up deleting the whole dashboard and imported it once again.. Is there any way you could minimize the number of data sources, so we do not need to make so many changes every time?

    Best Regards,

    Manish Singh

    Manish,

An additional question.  Why are you deleting a Klip and then re-adding the same Klip again?

    Thanks,

    Scott.
