Changing GA password for my data sources

Hi Experts,

We have created a whole lot of data sources with different queries from my company GA account.

Unfortunately, we had to change the GA password for our account - and it broke the daily update for our data sources.

Is there an easy way for me to update these data sources or do I have to manually go it and reconfigure each of my data source using the new password?

I tried to create a new GA data source with the same name and now, I don't know which is the broken one and which is the new one. :(

Many thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
Cheong

    Hi -

There is an easy way! If you go to Account > Connected Accounts section, you should find your GA Token in the list. From here, you can Re-Authorize the token. Any data sources connected to it will be updated.

Just as a reminder - OAuth tokens will expire. When that happens, you will need to go through the re-authorize process as well. The far end (such as Google Analytics) sets the expiry time.

    Hope this helps!

    Dear Meggan,

    Many thanks.

Yes, I found it after I posted the question. Sigh.

Unfortunately, I created another one with the same name and now, I can't refresh the old one anymore. Not sure if you would be able to help me delete one of them.

I also created a new one with a different name. And went through and update all my data sources to use this new one. Yes, had to learn the hard way. But that is the best way to remember. (Hee, hee, this is how I console myself. :) )

    Thanks again.

    Kind regards,
    Cheong

    Hi -

I suppose the positive side is that you learned some new tricks during the process :)

From the Account > Connected Accounts section, you can select tokens to delete. If you aren't sure which one is the most recent, you can check the 'Last Authorized' time.

    Hope this helps!

    Dear Meggan,

    Thank you.

    I tried your suggestion above.

But as I have created the new entry with the same name as the old one, it only shows one entry. However, in creating a new data source, the drop down for that one shows two entries with the same name.

Sorry, I think that I've mucked up the system.

Shall I raise a ticket to get one of the duplicated items deleted?

    Thanks.

    Kind regards,
    Cheong

Hi Cheong - I'm happy to help get your tokens sorted out. You will need to turn on support access to your account and I can have a quick look :)
