Google Analytics Date Range Comparison

Hello :)

The Google Analytics Klip contains a comparison period dropdown component since it has limited choices (Last year vs Previous Period etc..) i was wondering if there's a way to change it to a datepicker instead? so that the user can specify the date range against a date range?

Thanx :)

    Hi Jazmine -

Are you looking at Klips from the Klip Gallery, or the Google Analytics Klip start dashboard? Both can be modified, but I'd suggest sticking to either modifying Klip Gallery klips or creating your own.

The only limitation with date pickers, is the dates in your data source. Does your data source have date field in it? How many days do you plan to cover?

    Thanks,

Both :) i was looking at the selectors used on the Klip Start and planned to emulate it and use the Google Analytics Klips but more  customized version based on the request by my boss.. they wanted a datepicker so that its more specific to the dates they needed. But i have no idea where to start.. :) my data source is google analytics :) Also is there a way to hide components on the klips?

Hi - I would suggest working on modifying Klip Gallery klips and not the Klip Start. The Klip start is built using many different data sources, so the date picker will be harder to integrate. I can be done, but will require a strong understanding of how variables and formulas are being used in it.

The Klip gallery klips are all stand-alone, so much easier to link up with date pickers. All the klips from the klip start should be available in the gallery, and if they are not, they should be easy to create.

You will need to ensure your data source pulls in enough data to cover a large period. Have you done that yet? You can use the date retrieval parameters to help:
