UX improvements

Hi all, some ideas from a recent session:

- I often need to know the name of the clip I'm editing. In the Klip editor, it would be great to see the file-name of the klip.

- In the dashboard, it would good to distinguish the file name of the klip. It would also be very useful to hover over a klip element and see the underlying formula.

- It would be nice to clone dashboards.

- It would be nice if klips belonged to a dashboard. Currently, as you know a klip can belong to a group but is otherwise accessible in any dashboard. However, I think I'd prefer a scaffold that is similar to the asset structure in Marketo:

Parent: Dashboard

Child (sibling): - Klip

Child of Child: --Klip element

Child (sibling): - Klip

Child of Child: -- Klip Element

The naming convention would mean you could reference:

Dashboard A.Sales piechart A.Label 1

and you could clone this to a new dashboard to end up with:

Dashboard B. Sales piechart A.Label 1.

    Hi Nicholas,

Thank you for sharing your requests here.  Most of your requests are pretty clear.  When you ask for 'clone' a dashboard, are you looking to:

    1. Create a copy of the dashboard that you can change the layout or swap in and out Klips - but be using the exact same Klips as exist on the previous version?  (e.g. Only one of each Klip exists in the library.  Editing the Klip from one dashboard, the saved result is seen on both dashboards)
    2. Creating a copy of the dashboard and a copy of all the Klips (duplicate each Klip int he library)

You last point I am reading as you would like a better way to organize your content in the library.  Correct?

Any additional context would be most welcome.

In the meantime, I'll associate your name with the feature requests for context.

    Thanks again!

    Cheers,

    Scott.

Hi Scott - correct. At the moment I've made the mistake of having too many klips and not being able to distinguish which ones live where.

I think if I could have something like you articulated in option 2, where you create a copy of the klips when you clone the dashboard. It would mean you could effectively build a dashboard that you could clone and alter without also changing the original dashboard.

    Hi Nicholas,

    Thank you for clarifying!

Adding this to the context for the feature request.

    Cheers,

    Scott.
