Facebook Ads API Changes (v2.10 Deprecated)

Hey everyone!

Just a heads up that Facebook is deprecating v2.10 of their Marketing Graph API on May 8th. We will be performing our migration to the current version v2.12 to support your existing data sources on May 1st.

For example, your query will change from:

        graph.facebook.com/v2.10/me       to

        graph.facebook.com/v2.12/me

There are some things that we are unable to update for you and may need action on your part.

If you are still using API v2.10 and v2.11 please check out Facebook’s Platform Changelog for more information.

What should I know?

  • Facebook has redefined organic for the page/insights and post/insights endpoints. The new relationship is:

total impressions = paid impressions + organic impressions

organic impressions = viral impressions + nonviral impressions

  • The results returned by like and unlike metrics for the following Insights endpoints have changed.

        /page/insights/page_fans_by_like_source_unique

        /page/insights/page_fans_by_like_source

        /page/insights/page_fans_by_unlike_source_unique

        /page/insights/page_fans_by_unlike_source

Like metrics now return Ads, Other, Page Suggestions, News Feed, Your Page, Restored Likes from Reactivated Accounts, Search

Unlike metrics now return Deactivated or Memorialized Account Removals, Suspicious Account Removals, Unlikes from Page, Posts, or News Feed, Unlikes from Search, Underage Account Removals, Unlikes from Page Suggestions

  • For page-owned videos, the source field will no longer be returned unless the user making the request has a role on the owning Page. This affects the /video, /post, /page/videos, /page/posts, and /page/feed endpoints.

Reminder, we are also migrating all Facebook endpoints to v2.12 to be up to date with the most current API. Check out our last Facebook Deprecations Community Post for more information.

Finally, after May 1st please double-check that any Klips using Facebook or Facebook Ads data sources work as expected.
