Facebook Pages API converting to Page-Scoped IDs (PSIDs)

Hey everyone!

Just a heads up that Facebook Pages API is converting to Page-Scoped IDs (PSIDs) instead of App-Scoped IDs (ASIDs) as of March 20th, 2019. For more information about PSIDs and ASIDs please visit here. In order to ensure that Klipfolio’s Facebook integration is compliant with the upcoming changes, we will be updating our integration to PSIDs on March 8th, 2019.

What should I know?

  • The user node in the Facebook Pages API represents a single user in Facebook and its ID is unique for an app under App-Scoped IDs (ASIDs).
  • When Facebook Pages API is converted to Page-Scoped IDs (PSIDs), an ID for a user will now be unique for a page (rather than being unique for an app)
  • If you’re using id field from the user node in Klips, please note that a given user will now have different IDs across different Facebook pages.

Note: These changes do not affect data sources using the Facebook Marketing API.

After March 8th, please double-check that any Klips using Facebook Pages data sources work as expected.
