Invert Rows/Columns in Table

This was first suggested in 2017, and I'd like to bring it back up: https://support.klipfolio.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/115004275013-Table-Axis-Switch-Creating-Vertical-Tables-where-you-insert-new-ROWS-instead-of-columns-?page=1#community_comment_360009129033

A simple "switch columns/rows" feature, as is available for bar graphs would be extremely helpful. I have several instances where this would make it easier for clients to scan information in tables.

I think this could work as a feature either within the Klip or in the data modelling tool... or both!

    Hi Lauren,

Thanks for your request! Have you checked out Power Metrics yet? We have a table component there which allows you to do this functionality.

To switch between the two options, you can just select the chart type- no additional work required!

    Thanks

Thanks for the info Meggan! Unfortunately I rarely have data sources with just one metric (imagine social post data with impressions, engagements, likes, comments, etc. or email data with open rate and click rate). If I only had one metric, I probably wouldn't need to use a table to visualize it.

Is there any ability in power metrics where I can simply connect a table based data source like we do for kilps (instead of selecting one metric to 'track')?

    Hi Lauren,

I do have a trick to combine multiple metrics into one- using Calculated Metrics. I don't think there is an example of this, but the trick is how you set up your model. You'll still need to create a metric per impressions, engagements, likes, comments, etc, however what you would do is call the value column the same across each model and then add a new column and call it the same in each model as well - such as "Type"

You'd end up with something like

    Date, Value, Type

You would then create a metric for each impressions, engagements, likes, & comments, and then add them together in a calculated metric. Your calculated metric can then show all of the details.

We have a slightly different example captured here,  using Twitter:

    https://support.klipfolio.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360034214694-Using-PowerMetrics-to-track-Twitter-data

If you have the data sources already in your account, the support team would be happy to help you with a small proof of concept. You can always reach them at support@klipfolio.com

    Thanks!
