Return Data From Other Data sources

Hi,

I have one data source with campaign order information such as, placement, contracted imps, Client placement ID and a 2nd data source with campaign delivery data.

I like to match the client placement id on the first source with the id's on the 2nd data source and return it to a column on the first.  I creeated a Klip for this.  Not sure if i should be using Klips or Power Metrics.

    Hi Elvin,

Thanks for posting in our community post!

In order to merge or combine two data sources, you would use either LOOKUP() function in Klip or PowerMetric product or Merging Modelled data sources preferably in PowerMetric product,

    - If you want to use LOOKUP, for each item in client placement ID ( from data source 1), search for a match in IDs (from data source 2) and return the corresponding values from results (from data source 2).

    LOOKUP(input, keys, results)

    - If you would like to work with models, you can use Merge feature to join the data sources together based on client placement ID

We can certainly help you with product selection based on which product would suits your need. Please don't hesitate to email us at support@klipfolio.com for further questions.

    Hope that helps!

    Best,
    Shima

    Hi Shima,

Thanks for getting back to me.  Not sure I understand.  The editor doesn't work like excel so I am having a difficult time creating the formula.

Data Source A has "Client Line Item Name"  and an Empty column "Delivered".   I want a formula to search data source 2 for the Client Line Item Name match it to Source 1 and return the value from Data Source 2 column labeled delivered.

    Hi Elvin,

You can use LOOKUP() function in this case.
    For example if you have:

    DS1:
    ColumnA: Client Line Item Name
    ColumnB: Delivered

    DS2:
    ColumnA: Client Line Item Name
    ColumnB: Delivered

     LOOKUP(@Sheet1,A:A from DS1;,@Sheet1,B:B from DS2;,@Sheet1,A:A from DS2;)

Please try the above formula and if you still have questions, you can enable support access here so we can access to your account and have a look at the Klip or PowerMetric in question.

    Thanks

    HI Shima,

I've granted access as I can't seem to get it.

The Klip name is Klip Test.

These are the columns in question

    Kipfolio Test:
Column 6: Client Line Item Name
Column 13: Client Imps (Empty Cell where I like data from Source 2 to go into)

    Kiptest 2:
Column 1: Client Line Item Name
    Column 2: Impressions

    Thanks
