Let’s say you want to display all of your beautiful PowerMetrics dashboards on a TV, with your dashboards cycling though in a carousel style. This is possible with a little help from “Revolver - Tabs”, a browser Extension for Google Chrome, or “Tab Rotator” for Mozilla Firefox. These lightweight extensions allow you to set up a carousel of tabs to rotate through, meaning you can rotate through your dashboards in full-screen mode for use on a big screen.
Here’s how to set this up!
Google Chrome
1) Download and Install the “Revolver - Tabs” extension.
2) Open up each of the dashboard published views you want to view in their own tab.
3) Now that all your tabs are set up for display, you can configure your rotation settings by right clicking the “Revolver - Tabs” icon in chrome and selecting “options”
Note: You may need to open up your extensions menu (by clicking the puzzle piece in the above screenshot) to view the “Revolver - Tabs” icon
4) In the options menu, you can configure the number of seconds to show a tab before switching, and whether you want the extension to be active when you start your browser. You can also set up advanced rotation settings to spend different amounts of time on certain dashboards.
Note: make sure the ‘Reload’ setting is not checked, to prevent your dashboards from displaying in a loading state.
5) Click the “Revolver - Tabs” icon to start the carousel, and press F11 to enter full screen mode. Your dashboards will now automatically cycle on your display!
NOTE: Do not use the full-screen toggle within your published view and instead only use the browser-level full screen (F11) toggle when displaying a carousel of dashboards.
