Add pre-built Klips and connect to your Shopify data

Add pre-built Shopify Klips to your dashboard and start tracking your ecommerce data!

To connect our Shopify pre-built Klips to your own data, you'll need:

  • Your Shopify Shop Name. (Your shop name can be found in your store's URL. For example, http://YourShopName.myshopify.com)
  • Your Shopify login credentials.
  • If you're not the store owner or administrator, you may also need to be enabled with the necessary Shopify permissions. Selecting permissions in Shopify.

To add a Shopify pre-built Klip to your dashboard:

In an open dashboard, click + Add a Klip. In the Klip Gallery, select Shopify.

Beside the Klip you want to add, click + Add to Dashboard. Click Done.

In the new Klip on your dashboard, click the Sample Data banner.


If this is your first time connecting to your Shopify data, click Connect an account.

Enter your Shop Name and click Next Step.

Enter your Shopify login credentials.

Click Next Step.

Click Update Klip. Click Finished.



If you've connected to Shopify before, select your existing connection from the drop-down menu and click Next Step.

Click Update Klip. Click Finished.

Selecting permissions in Shopify

To integrate with Klipfolio, you install our app in your Shopify store. Before doing this, you need to ensure you’re enabled with the right set of permissions in Shopify. Note: If you’re the store owner or administrator you likely already have all the necessary permissions.

To set permissions, in Shopify, click Settings > Users and permissions and choose the desired Staff member. Select permissions as shown below. Go here if you want to learn more about Shopify staff permissions.

Managing your Shopify connection

By default, your connection name looks like this: yourname@Shopify <date and time created>. You can modify the default connection name when you create a new connection or from your list of connections, accessed by clicking your Account Name (located at the bottom of the left navigation sidebar) and selecting Account > Connected Accounts or by clicking the button in the left navigation sidebar and selecting Connections.

You can use and reuse the same account connection every time you connect to Shopify. If you have trouble accessing an existing connection, your OAuth token may have expired. If that happens to you, check out these troubleshooting tips.
