Klipfolio Changelog 2023

Up to Nov 27th

New:

  • dbt™ Semantic Layer integration: Deliver a streamlined metrics catalog to your business users so they can access data from your dbt Semantic Layer metrics for visualization, discovery, and dashboarding. Learn more.

  • Accessing dbt queries for metric visualizations: For help debugging and troubleshooting dbt and SQL queries for your metric visualizations, you can now view (and, optionally, copy) queries for a metric visualization on the metric’s homepage, on a dashboard, or in Explorer. Learn more.

  • Preventing or allowing aggregation overrides: Previously, anyone with edit access to a custom metric could change its default aggregation. Given that changing the aggregation for a metric visualization also changes the meaning of the data being shown, we’ve added a new setting that lets you disable or enable aggregation overrides on a per-metric basis. Learn more.

It’s indicated with darker text in the tooltip and a deeper colour in the chart component (bar, column, line, area, or pie slice) across the entire date range. Learn more about our chart options and settings.

  • Dashboard style: Dashboards just got a lot more exciting. With new background colours and image options, it’s easier (and more fun) than ever to tell your data story and show off your unique brand. Learn more.

  • Fullscreen mode for dashboards: We’ve added the ability to open dashboards in fullscreen mode. It’s a great way to preview how the dashboard will look in your presentations. Learn more about dashboards.

  • Improved data feed query preview: When creating data feeds using the query builder, you can now adjust the number of rows that will automatically display in the data preview (50, 100, 500, or 1000). You can also see how long it took for your query to complete.

  • Turning spreadsheet data into custom metrics: We’ve redesigned the spreadsheet experience. Dynamic columns will keep your source data, data feeds, and metrics aligned. A single click now switches row-oriented to column-oriented data – the perfect format for your custom metrics. Learn more here and here.

Note:

  • On July 1, 2023, Google Universal Analytics properties stopped processing data. Google Universal Analytics has been replaced with Google Analytics 4. Please refer to Google’s documentation and our resources page for more information on moving to and working with Google Analytics 4.

To preserve a copy of your Universal Analytics data, download your raw (unmodelled) data sources (select a data source from your list of data sources and, on its details page, click “Download Data”) or download your Klip data as CSV/Excel.

However, if you want to keep a copy of your data, you can download your Twitter metric visualizations as CSV files. For Klips users, to preserve a copy of your Twitter data, download your raw (unmodelled) Twitter data sources (select a data source from your list of data sources and, on its details page, click “Download Data”) or download Klip data as CSV/Excel. Refer to this Community Post for more information.
