Klipfolio Changelog 2023

Up to May 3rd

New:

  • Custom metrics for Airtable: We’ve added Airtable to our ever-growing list of supported services in PowerMetrics. Start tracking your Airtable data with custom metrics, built by you using our visual (and powerful) query builder! Learn more here.

  • Access to the Twitter API is being deprecated on April 29, 2023: For PowerMetrics users, your Twitter data is safely stored in history, even when it can no longer be refreshed. However, if you want to keep a copy of your data, you can download your Twitter metric visualizations as CSV files. For Klips users, to preserve a copy of your Twitter data, download your raw (unmodelled) Twitter data sources (select a data source from your list of data sources and, on its details page, click “Download Data”) or download Klip data as CSV/Excel. Refer to this Community Post for more information.

  • Metric List addition: You can now see the metric type (instant, instant (calculated), custom, or calculated) under the metric name in your list of metrics (accessed by clicking Metrics in the left navigation sidebar). Learn more about the Metric List page.

  • Sorting for metric visualizations: Organize and display your metric data the way you want to see it - on dashboards, metric homepages, and in Explorer. Depending on the chart type and style, you can now sort data by x-axis, legend, rows, columns, and more ….

Up to April 25th

New:

  • Data feed editor improvements and additions: A more intuitive formula bar design and the ability to hide and display columns makes it easier (and faster) than ever to create data feeds (and custom metrics) for our most popular services. Learn more here.

Up to April 13th

Improvements and enhancements:

  • Filters: A detailed tooltip, listing all filter members, now displays when you hover over the filters in Explorer and on metric homepages, dashboards, and published views.

  • Data comparisons: When comparing data to a different period (for example, in a summary visualization on a metric’s homepage), you can hover over the value to see a detailed tooltip. If an asterisk (*) displays after the value, this indicates the comparison period is incomplete.

  • Dashboard layout: We’ve added guidance lines to make it easier to arrange and align visualizations on a dashboard.

Up to April 4th

New:

  • Multi-factor authentication: We’ve added a key component in keeping your account secure - multi-factor authentication! Learn more here.

Up to March 15th

New:

  • Share dashboards with published views: Share internally or externally with either public or passcode access. Whether consumed on mobile phones, tablets, or desktop computers, or displayed on large TVs throughout the office, published views are a convenient, secure way to share snapshot views of your metric dashboards. Learn more here.

  • Adding metrics: Our new, more intuitive menu makes it easier than ever to add the type of metric you need. Click the + button beside Metrics in the left navigation sidebar to browse (and add) instant metrics, add a new custom or calculated metric, or see all your options at once by browsing all services.

  • Add more colour to your dashboards: Show off your unique brand and personality with customized dashboard background colours. Learn more here.

Up to Feb 16th

New:

  • Adding new metrics and dashboards: We’ve made it easier for you to locate your new metrics and dashboards. For 5 minutes after creation time, the NEW tag will display in the left navigation sidebar (for metrics and dashboards) and in your list of metrics, beside all newly added metrics.

Up to Feb 7th

New:

  • Light and Dark mode: Personalize your PowerMetrics experience by applying a light or dark mode. Or, automatically use the mode that matches your current device settings. Learn more.

Up to Jan 25th

New:

  • New custom date range option: We’ve added “Since” as a custom date range setting. You choose the start date. The end date is based on your available metric data. Learn more.

  • More date range options: We’ve added “Month to date” and “Year to date” to our extensive list of pre-set date range options. In addition, when setting a custom date range, when you choose “This week”, “This month”, or “This year”, you can optionally select the “to date” toggle to display data for “Week to date”, “Month to date”, or “Year to date” data.

  • New calendar design: Our new, more intuitive, vertical-scrolling calendar control makes it easier than ever to set metric and dashboard date ranges.

  • Get notified when tokens are about to expire: Tokens for some services expire after a set period of time and need to be re-authenticated. To help you avoid disruptions in your data, we’ll send you an email 7 and 2 days before token expiry for the following services: QuickBooks, Xero, Facebook, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft OneDrive (with support for more services soon!) The email includes a direct link to Klipfolio, where you can quickly and easily re-authorize your token. Learn more for Klips. Learn more for PowerMetrics.

  • About your metrics: We’ve improved the design of the “About” page for all metric types, providing even more helpful information than before! Go here for an example.

  • Featured data services: We’ve reorganized the “All Services” page to make it easier to find our top, featured data services.

  • Refresh error indicators: We’ve made it easier to identify refresh failures by adding a red exclamation mark to the name of an open data source or data feed and in the data source or data feed library. Learn more about data refresh.
