This article includes:
Note:
- Supported file types and sizes: We support Excel, CSV, JSON, and XML file formats and a 10MB maximum file size.
- Modifying your spreadsheet data in Klips doesn't change your original spreadsheet source data.
Creating a data source using an uploaded file
To create a data source using an uploaded file:
- Click Data Sources in the left navigation bar.
If you don’t see this option, go to the bottom of the left navigation sidebar and click your Account Name > Data Sources instead. - Click Create a New Data Source and select File Upload.
- Click Choose File and select a file to upload.
- Click Get data.
- Ensure this is the data you’re looking for. Optionally select the checkbox to Model your data. Learn more about modelling data sources.
- Click Continue.
- Name, choose refresh settings, and, optionally, share your data source.
- Click Save.
The data source is added to your account and is ready to use for custom Klips. You can see all your data sources in your Data Source Library, accessed by clicking Data Sources in the left navigation sidebar.
Updating an uploaded data source
If you modify the local file and want to update the data source (and its associated custom Klips) to reflect your changes, you'll need to overwrite the version you previously uploaded.
Note: When you make changes to data that's stored on the cloud (for example, data in Google Drive) the connected data sources are refreshed automatically.
To update an uploaded data source:
- Click Data Sources in the left navigation bar to open your list of data sources.
If you don’t see this option, go to the bottom of the left navigation sidebar and click your Account Name > Data Sources instead. - From your list of data sources, select the file you want to update.
Note: You must select a raw data source, not a modelled data source. - On the About this Data Source page, select Reconfigure Connection or Re-Upload Now.
- Click Reconfigure Connection, click Reconfigure.
- Click Choose File and select a file to upload.
- Click Get data.
- Ensure this is the data you’re looking for, then click Done.
