Klipfolio sign-in options

Klipfolio gives users two options for signing up for (and into) an account. You can sign up for an account by authenticating with Google or you can sign up with your email and password, without linking to a Google account.

Whichever method you choose to sign up with will be the method you use to sign in to your account going forward. You cannot use two different sign in methods at the same time for the same account. As an administrator, you can adjust the sign-in settings for your users.

Sign up with Google

You can use a Google account to provide credentials to Klipfolio, instead of entering a separate email and password.

Note:

  • If you are creating an account through an invitation link or email, ensure you choose the Google account your administrator has associated with the invitation.
  • Google sign in is not supported in conjunction with Domain Aliasing. If you add Domain Aliasing to your account, all Google sign in users will need to be switched over to email sign in.

To sign up with Google:

  1. On the Klipfolio homepage, click GET STARTED.
  2. Click Sign up with Google.
  3. Select the Google account that you want to use to sign in to Klipfolio and enter your Google credentials if you are not already signed in.
    Note: If you decide you no longer want to use Google Sign In, you must contact your administrator to change your account type.

Sign up with email

If you do not wish to use a Google account (or have received an invitation for an email address that isn’t managed by Google), you can sign up by entering your email and credentials.

To sign up with email:

  1. On the Klipfolio homepage, click GET STARTED.
  2. Enter your information into the displayed fields.
    Note: If you are responding to an invitation email or link, the Email and Company fields are already filled in.
  3. From the drop-down list, choose whether you are building dashboards for your clients (customers) or your team (company). Choosing My clients/customers from the drop-down ensures that client management options are automatically enabled for your account. To learn more, see How do I manage my clients?
  4. Click Create Account.

To change your password:

  1. After signing in, click Your name > Account.
  2. On the My Profile page, beside General Information click Edit.
  3. Enter your current password and your new password in the appropriate fields. Ensure that you enter exactly the same password in the New Password and Repeat Password fields.
  4. Click Save.

How do I change sign-in settings for an existing user?

As an administrator, you can enable users to change their sign-in method. The login type (Google or Email) for each of your users is displayed on the All Users page.

To enable an existing user to switch to Google Sign In:

  1. From the All Users page, click on the user’s name.
  2. Click the Switch to Google Sign In button. The user will receive an email containing a link to connect to their Google account.

To unlink a Google account for an existing user:

  1. From the All Users page, click on the user’s name.
  2. At Google Sign In is enabled, click the Unlink a Google Account button.
  3. You can copy the URL in the dialog and send it to the user to create a new Klipfolio password. Click Apply to send an email to the user that contains the link to enter a new password.
    Note: Their new password is for Klipfolio only and will not affect their Google account.
