Creating dashboards

Dashboards are used by Klipfolio to organize and display Klips. Each time you login to Klipfolio, you are brought to the home dashboard. This is where you see all your active dashboards.

Dashboards are meant to simplify the distribution and monitoring of KPIs within your organization. So as you develop Klips that display KPIs, you can organize them into dashboards and share them with your colleagues. 

To create a new dashboard:

  1. Click the Add a Dashboard symbol.
  2. Click the Add a Blank Dashboard button.
  3. Click the Add a Klip button.
  4. You may either select from a list of existing Klips OR build a new Klip.
  5. Add as many Klips as you want.

To add an existing dashboard:

  1. Click the Add a Dashboard symbol.
  2. Select a dashboard from the list of available options.

The new dashboard is added.

To rename a dashboard:

  1. Click the dashboard's menu option.
  2. Select Rename from the menu.
  3. Type an appropriate name for the dashboard.

The dashboard is renamed.

To adjust the layout of a dashboard:

  1. Select the appropriate dashboard you want to adjust.
  2. Click the Layout option located at the top left corner of the dashboard.
  3. Select from one of two layout options.
    1. Template. This layout option allows you to select from a number of predefined options.
    2. Custom. This layout option allows you to choose how many grid columns you want to use to display your Klips.
  4. Click and drag the individual Klips to their desired position.
  5. Note: You can also change the height and width of a Klip in a Custom layout.

The layout is defined for the dashboard.

To share a dashboard:

  1. Click the dashboard’s menu option.
  2. Select Share from the menu.
  3. Select Share with groups from the menu.
  4. Select the Groups with whom you wish to share the dashboard.
  5. Select the appropriate sharing and visibility rights for each group.
  6. Click the Save button.

The dashboard is shared with the specified groups.

To set the default dashboard for a group:

  1. Click on the Users link on the dashboard page.
  2. Select the Groups dashboard.
  3. Click on the appropriate group’s name.
  4. Click the Dashboards link in the side-panel on the left.
  5. Click the Edit link.
  6. Click the Add a dashboard to share with this group link.
  7. Select one or more Dashboards to share.
  8. Under the Visibility option, select Add to dashboards (required) option.
  9. Edit the Index value to determine the order the dashboards are shown.
  10. Click the Save button.

The default dashboards are set for the group. Those dashboards will now appear on that group’s account page when they sign in.

To move a Klip between two dashboards

  1. Click on the border of a Klip.
  2. Drag the Klip to the title of a dashboard on your display.
  3. Release Klip to add it to that dashboard.

To remove a dashboard

  1. Click the dashboard's menu option
  2. Select Remove from dashboard

The dashboard is removed
